I love to shop. No doubt about it. Anyone who spends any amount of time with me knows this is nothing but the truth. Mostly it's window shopping (considering the economy that's not too surprising) but I've started to notice more and more green products while I'm browsing the aisles.
I'll be the first to admit I don't fully understand all of the terms about pesticides and chemicals but I do know that in our house like any other we seem to waste a lot of paper, plastic, and who knows what else.
So I started doing my research. I found sites like Ideal Bite that shows how to make small changes to live more eco-friendly. Some of them are such simple things! Now I'm not going to go chuck out every chemical that's currently in the house and start over (it just seems to wasteful) but I'm going to make a bigger effort to buy more green products for our home. I've been trying to do this with groceries for awhile but am still no where near as good as I could be about it.
Here are my goals:
1) Buy more organic (or at least natural) food products
2) Recycle what can be recycled (mostly paper in our house..)
3) Replace lightbulbs with CFLs as they burn out.
4) Use green cleaning products.
It's only a start but hopefully it will save us money (and in the long run, the planet).
