30 Days To Go!!!

I feel like I've been pregnant forever!!!

Depending on which due date you go by... yes, I have two (one from the OB and one from the ultrasound tech) I'm due in about 30 days. I'm so excited to see our son and so exhausted. Who knew that chasing a 2 year old while being pregnant would be so tiring???

We moved in to our new place which is awesome.. now I just have to unpack it! LOL.. It's a much slower process since I can't pick up anything.

More updates later...

Back From Vacation..

We are back from our vacation.. It was so nice to get away and just relax. I don't get to do that very often and it was really nice.

We headed up to the coast in Northern California where my grandparents live and had 3 days to do whatever we wanted. Mostly we hung around the house and checked out the local shops. Everything is organic or sells organic up there so it was quite an experience.

I'm happy to be home but really don't want to get back to the normal routines..

I Need A Vacation!!

I need a vacation more than anything.. Just a few days to get away from it all. I'm not really asking for a lot. I don't need a trip to Europe or anything (although that would be nice!).

Hopefully, we will have the chance next weekend. But for now I'm not getting my hopes up.

Learning To Live Green

I love to shop. No doubt about it. Anyone who spends any amount of time with me knows this is nothing but the truth. Mostly it's window shopping (considering the economy that's not too surprising) but I've started to notice more and more green products while I'm browsing the aisles.

I'll be the first to admit I don't fully understand all of the terms about pesticides and chemicals but I do know that in our house like any other we seem to waste a lot of paper, plastic, and who knows what else.

So I started doing my research. I found sites like Ideal Bite that shows how to make small changes to live more eco-friendly. Some of them are such simple things! Now I'm not going to go chuck out every chemical that's currently in the house and start over (it just seems to wasteful) but I'm going to make a bigger effort to buy more green products for our home. I've been trying to do this with groceries for awhile but am still no where near as good as I could be about it.

Here are my goals:
1) Buy more organic (or at least natural) food products
2) Recycle what can be recycled (mostly paper in our house..)
3) Replace lightbulbs with CFLs as they burn out.
4) Use green cleaning products.

It's only a start but hopefully it will save us money (and in the long run, the planet).

A New Year... about a month late

I rarely post in this blog mostly because I just can't find the time. When I have the time, I can't seem to find the energy. It seems to be a vicious cycle.

I can't even remember the last time I posted (and I don't really feel like looking at the moment) so I'll quickly recap the last couple months..

In August, Donald and I celebrated our wedding with our family and friends. Afterward, we took off on our fantastic 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise. We had a blast on our much needed vacation. Who knew wedding planning could be so much work?? Shortly after arriving home, we were in a car accident that left us without our new car for over a month.. We finally got it back good as new around Halloween.

As if a car accident wasn't enough, I was told at work that they told us they would be re-auditioning everyone in my building and if we didn't make the cut we would be transferred to a new area to work. I can't complain considering that I did keep my job and I really like where I'm working now but the whole process was a pain. Not to mention it took over a month to audition and re-place us all.

Just before I was transferred, Donald and I found out that we will be expecting Baby #2 right around 4th of July 2009. And it's a boy!! We haven't decided on a name yet but we're working on it.

Of course, Thanksgiving and Christmas came and went. Relatively painlessly, considering balancing trying to see our large families. I'm grateful for the new year although I didn't make any resolutions this year. My typical thing is to lose 10 lbs (can't happen til after the baby), save money (unrealistic but necessary), and to eat out less... I always seem to break these so rather than making them resolutions I've decided to work at making them habits. Well maybe not the losing weight, I'm not a yo-yo after all. I've started using the FlyLady system to keep our house in order but it's a slow process. Again, not surprising.. The house didn't get this much clutter in a day so it's probably going to take more than one day to get it all out.

The biggest thing that happened since I last posted is that my grandmother passed away on Valentine's Day. I am still reeling from it even though she was 80 and lived a full life. Her services are March 1st and I'm still trying to get the time off for it.

That's all for now..
